A Different Kind of Spa Day in Bloomington, Indiana

Say “spa day” and most people picture a massage table and a facial. Ours looks a little different. At Serenus Float & Wellness in Bloomington, Indiana, a spa day is built around stillness: floating in warm water, settling into gentle heat, and having a few hours with nothing to do.

If you have been looking at spas and day spas around town and wondering what makes us different, here is what a spa day with us is like, how to put one together, and how to share it.

What kind of spa is Serenus?

A quiet one. We are not a massage or facial spa. Our spa services are four ways to rest, each in its own private space:

Float therapy. An hour lying back in warm, salt-rich water that holds you up completely, in a pod with a lid you control or in our roomier float cabin. Explore float therapy.

Infrared sauna. Thirty or sixty minutes of gentle, enveloping warmth in a wood-lined sauna with soft colored lighting. Explore our infrared sauna.

Red light therapy. Ten or twenty minutes standing in a soft red glow, with an optional vibration plate. Explore red light therapy.

Hyperbaric sessions. An hour to recline and rest inside our Hyperpod chamber. Explore hyperbaric oxygen sessions.

You can book any one on its own. Put two or three together and you have a spa day.

Spa day packages

Our day passes combine services into a single visit, so the planning is done for you.

Relax Refresh Renew pairs a 60-minute float with a 30-minute sauna on the same day. It is the simplest way to try a spa day with us.

The In and Out day pass brings together a 60-minute float, 20 minutes of red light, and a 60-minute sauna. Allow about two and a half hours.

The Total Restore day pass includes all four: a float, red light, a sauna, and a hyperbaric session, in about two and three-quarter hours.

You will find every package and day pass on our pricing page, and we are glad to help you choose.

A couples spa day

A spa day is a lovely thing to share. You can float together in our large cabin room, or side by side in separate pods. Our sauna fits two, so you can warm up together afterward.

Give us a call and we will help you plan a couples spa day that suits you both. A gift card makes it an easy surprise, too.

Why a quiet spa day feels so good

Much of it is simply the rare feeling of not being needed for a while. No phone, no schedule, no one to answer.

Research gives a glimpse of this, too. In one study, people reported feeling more relaxed and less tense after a single one-hour float.1 Mayo Clinic describes infrared sauna as something people may enjoy for relaxation.2

Planning your spa day

Towels, robes, and earplugs are ready for you, and you will shower before and after your float. Bring a water bottle if you are using the sauna. Your host will show you around and explain each step, so there is nothing you need to know in advance. If you have a health condition or are pregnant, please check with your healthcare professional before you book.

New to Serenus? Our first-visit guide covers what to expect. You will find us at 410 South Landmark Avenue in Bloomington. Get in touch with any questions, or book your sessions and give yourself a spa day that is truly quiet.
